His tungsten ring looks pretty much the same as it did the day I put it on his finger!

Save on Providence's Color Run 9/27

Last year I ran the Providence Color Run with my husband's cousin and my friend. This is a large-scale non-competitive run through downtown Providence. As you run, volunteers throw colored corn starch at you so by the time you're finished, you're covered from head to two. The volunteers and spectators do a fabulous job of cheering the runners on so you get this amazing runner's high as you race through the color stations.

And once you're done, there's a great party with music and more colored cornstarch.


Unfortunately, I'll be busy the day before running the Rugged Maniac so I won't be back in town early enough to run this race on 9/27. Double Dip Money Back on Bananas

Many of you ask about saving money on meat and produce. Both of these types of items do have savings available, but it can sometimes be a bit of work.

Savings apps like Checkout 51 and Ibotta are two great ways to save on produce and meat. Both are 100% free to sign up. Checkout 51 can be used on the computer or on your Smartphone via an app, while Ibotta can only be used via the app. You can view and unlock rebates on Ibotta on the computer, but you'll need a Smartphone to scan the UPC/barcode on the item and scan your receipt.


This week, you can double dip on savings on bananas. Get 25 cents back via Checkout 51 on your banana purchase from ANY store that shows an itemized receipt for bananas. Get another 20 cents off your banana purchase through Ibotta for a purchase at a bunch of different stores including BJs, Stop & Shop, Shaw's, Walmart, Target, and ShopRite.

I bought 1 lb of bananas for $.49 at Shaw's. I redeemed my Ibotta rebate for 20 cents and my Checkout 51 rebate for 25 cents, so I paid a final price of 4 cents!!

When searching for deals online, you may often see couponing lingo that is difficult to interpret. OOP is a commonly used phrase that stands for "out of pocket." It literally means the money you will be spending out of pocket, although you may end up saving more later through points, rewards, rebates or gift cards. What you actually spend overall after rewards, etc. is called your net or final price.
