Saving Without Coupons - Using Apps

I wanted to share with you a few additional ways to save money on your purchases that didn't involve clipping coupons. I must admit that I am simply too frugal to regularly buy ink for my home printer. This means I often don't get in on those great deals that require printable coupons. But that doesn't mean I can't find other great ways to save.

I personally use each of the following apps, which are 100% to sign up for, and have earned hundreds of dollars in cash back or gift cards rewards. Please know that I do earn referral credits if you sign up for one of these apps through my referral link. In some cases, you also earn a referral credit for using my referral link.

Receipt Hog

Receipt Hog is a free mobile app that turns your everyday shopping receipts into easy cash rewards! For every qualifying receipt you snap a picture of and submit, you'll earn coins or spins depending on the retailer on your receipts, and a sweepstakes entry for a monthly drawing that could win you up to 5,000 coins! You can redeem your coins for Paypal credit, a Visa prepaid e-gift card or an Amazon e-gift card.

Ibotta

Ibotta is an app for your smartphone that lets you get cash back through rebates on products you buy at the stores. I usually use this mostly for groceries, but you can get money back on alcohol, household products at home improvement stores and even clothing at department stores!

It's 100% free to sign up. You can earn cash back 3 different ways: buying at the store and scanning your receipts; linking your store's loyalty card; and shopping online through Ibotta.

You earn actual money, not points to redeem! Once you've racked up at least $20, you can request a payment to Paypal or you can order one of their available gift cards.

ReceiptPal

Use ReceiptPal to snap your paper receipts, or connect your email or Amazon account, and you’ll earn points for every receipt for online purchases. You can redeem your points for gift cards from great retailers. Plus, you’ll be automatically entered into weekly sweepstakes for cash prizes. Minimum earning threshold is only 2,200 points which will earn you a $5 e-gift card.

Fetch

Fetch is a free app that turns grocery receipts into rewards. Just scan any grocery receipt, and earn points towards awesome rewards. You'll earn at least 1% on all listed brands and products, and gain access to exclusive offers that earn you even more points. No more entering codes, completing tasks or jumping through any hoops! Just scan your grocery receipt, and get rewarded.

Sign up with my referral link or my referral code V7FTN and you'll start out with 2,000 Fetch Points ($2.00 in points)!

Checkout 51

Another free app, Checkout 51 allows you to browse your offers and buy products at any store. Then, upload your receipt using Checkout 51. When your account balance reaches $20, you can cash out via PayPal or you can get a check in the mail.

Dosh

Dosh is the passive couponer's best friend. No receipts to scan!
Shop with Dosh and get cash back for shopping on items you already buy. Get money for shopping, eating, and booking hotels. Get paid when you shop and dine at the places you visit every week including Wendy’s, Uber, Sephora, Papa John’s, Grubhub, Old Navy, Gap, Domino’s, Forever 21, Apple Music, and more!

Simply download the Dosh app, securely connect your credit and debit cards, and live life as usual. Every time you use those cards, Dosh searches for available offers. If it finds one, Dosh automatically redeems the offer and converts it into cold, hard cash, then deposits it directly into your Dosh Wallet. You don’t have to do a thing.

GIVEAWAY! KidStuff Coupon Book Review - Win 1 of 4!

I have had an amazing partnership with the folks at KidStuff Coupon Books over the past several years. They are incredibly generous and sent me their brand-new 2017-18 Eastern & Central MA KidStuff Coupon Books to giveaway to 4 of my lucky readers!

You can only get these great books through a school fundraiser, so this is an exclusive offer just for my readers!

If you have kids or have friends or relatives with kids, I'm sure you've been accosted to purchase goodies from a catalog used as a fundraiser for their school. You know what I'm talking about... the 5 pound tin of popcorn you end up throwing out or the ridiculously priced tub of cookie dough? Some catalogs contain the $15 candle that stops smelling pretty two days after opening it. As a teacher, I get asked to partake in purchasing fundraising goodies all the time and often I have to politely turn down my students because I simply can't afford to buy all that stuff that I don't need or will never use.

KidStuff Coupon Books are a fundraising goody that you are sure to use - over and over in fact!

KidStuff Coupon Books vary depending on your location. There are 30 different books based on locations all over the country.

The book itself is separated into three color-coded sections: blue is for shopping and services, yellow is for activities and attractions, and red is for dining and food. Coupons are included for chain vendors like Sears, Men's Wearhouse and Sonic. Then there are discounts for places more local to Massachusetts such as the Boston Duck Tours.

At the very front of the book, there's an alphabetical listing of all of the vendors included in the book to make browsing easier.

The book costs $25 and 50% of that goes directly to the school fundraising. I promise you you'll get more use out of the KidStuff Coupon Book than you ever did with that 5 pound tin of popcorn. AND you'll be helping a local school raise money for their educational initiatives!

What a great two-for-one deal!! You get an entire book of savings (over 400 pages!!!) and your local school earns money!

If you're involved with school fundraising and are interested in more information, please contact KidStuff Coupon Books at:

#DineOutBoston - Fine Dining for Less!

Nearly 150 amazing restaurants are participating in this year's Dine Out Boston! This event is similar to Rhode Island's "Restaurant Week," wherein you can dine at restaurants and choose from a prix fixe menu for a set price. This is a great way to try out those typically pricey restaurants and not empty your wallet.

When: August 6 - 18 *Saturdays are optional, please see the website for exclusions
Where: Boston area restaurants - check out the list of 148 participating restaurants!
What: Lunches are $15, $20 or $25 and Dinners are $28, $33 or $38

Make your reservations using Open Table and earn points. Once you've earned 2000 points, you'll get a $20 check!

A great part about this is for each Dine Out Boston, a local charity is selected to be the charitable partner. For Dine Out Boston August 2017, all participating restaurants will donate a $100 certificate to be auctioned off at DOBauction.com. Proceeds from the auction benefit The Boston Parks Beautification Fund.
